In case you haven’t figured it out yet, this blog is about me and my wedding dress and the journey we are taking together. Ever since I was a child I always knew I was going to wear someone else’s dress. I hated the idea of spending thousands of dollars on a brand new dress that I would try on in the store, at the taylor, and finally on my wedding day. I wanted a dress with a story and love already wrapped up in it, and then I wanted to pour my own story, love, and life into making it my own.
When I started researching how to restore a vintage gown I was surprised by the total lack of information that was available. I could hardly find anything at all and — though I know I am in a miniscule minority of brides — there have got to be at least a few other women out there who are as crazy as I am! I’m starting this blog in response to that lack of information and if my adventure can help out just one other person I’ll consider it all worth it.
I am by no means an expert at all, so please don’t take anything I say or do too seriously. However, I will be posting the resources that I’ve found helpful as well as the different products I use along the way.
Cheers and wish me luck!
